Title: Testing the beyerdynamic MMX 300 Manufactory
Author: Friedrich Stiemer
Translated from the original German article
Although the MMX 300 weighs almost 400 grams, the high comfort cannot be denied.
Even after several hours of using the MMX 300 there is no uncomfortable pressure. It is not too warm around our ears either. Furthermore, the workmanship definitely meets the price, because nothing creaks or rattles.
Mainly, the sound, the headset (...) does not fail. The different sound ranges are professionally tuned and of a high precision. The dynamic is unparalleled and the playback of explosions, fine orchestra plays and films is extremely detailed, too. The ambience is very impressive, for example enemies actually can be located by their steps - the good noise isolation is also very positive in this case. The quality of the voices transmitted by the microphone is very good.
Of course the MMX 300 Manufactory is much more expensive than its gaming competitors, but the headset is definitely worth the price. The sound is impressive, the high standard of workmanship and the customisation options are extensive. Initially the clear sound needs getting used to, but after a short time we would not want to miss it. This, however, also depends a lot on the audio hardware used (i.e. the output device) and the audio material. Beyerdynamic supplies the headset with an extended warranty of five years.
