Open to a new listening experience: T 90 - the first Tesla headphones by beyerdynamic in an acoustically transparent design

 Heilbronn, April 2012: Nothing comes between a sound enthusiast and his music - only open headphones give this feeling of closeness and acoustic transparency. Instead of completely shielding the user from the outside world, it allows him to take part in normal activities since the music flows, breathes and sounds completely natural – just like with the new T 90 by beyerdynamic.

The T 90 with Tesla technology (499 Euros) marks another milestone in headphone development for the Heilbronn-based audio specialist. This is because the tried and tested Tesla models that are highly praised by music fans were, until now, only available in the  semi-open and closed design, such as the T 1, T 5 p or T 70/T 70p.

Under the name Tesla, beyerdynamic has produced a series of design features that lend the headphones extraordinary effectiveness and, at the same time, especially balanced sound. The T 90 also works with the efficient Tesla sound transducers. It develops a power and richness of detail, which accurately characterises it as exceptional headphones.

Above all, acoustic experts have compared it to enjoyable, spontaneous listening: Without having to concentrate or adapt, the music fan can be immersed in the sound immediately. The T 90 combines the neutral and analytical sound of the Tesla transducer with a full and warm acoustic colour and exuberance, making it entertaining from the first note. And, thanks to the high efficiency of this transducer, it can be enjoyed with an iPad on the sofa or on a hi-fi system. The three metre-long connection cable with the gold-plated screw adapter offers sufficient mobility at all times.

Comfortable ear pads made of velvety microfibre, which have a temperature-balancing and moisture-regulating effect, makes listening a pleasurable experience, even for hours on end. The material is skin-friendly and has been tested for harmful substances in accordance with the Ökotex standard. For an open design, outer shells must be acoustically transparent. beyerdynamic achieves this with a material whose three-dimensional structure is both robust and sound permeable: Swiss tulle. The satin-gloss special textile in elegant mocha-brown underscores the special status of the headphones with its prestigious look - and is an exciting contrast to the headphones’ cradles and rings made from solid anodised aluminium. Like all premium beyerdynamic headphones, the latest addition to the Tesla family is made by hand at the company headquarters in Heilbronn.

The T 90 opens a whole new world for discerning music fans - in sound, appearance and tactile quality. The T 90 will be available starting at the end of June from authorised specialist dealers or directly from the manufacturer.
